It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mom, Deloris Thompson, age 81 of Evans, Georgia. She entered into the presence of the Lord on Friday, March 14, 2025 leaving behind a legacy of love, faith and a trust that God always provides.
Deloris was full of life, witty, and compassionate. She never met a stranger and loved Jesus with every ounce of her being. She was a beloved mom, Nana, Aunt, and the most loyal friend anyone could ever ask for. She worked as a secretary at The Carpet Shop for over twenty years. Deloris found the most joy in spending time with her family, friends, and being a devoted member of Life Center Church for over 30 years. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and never missed an opportunity to be at church and to serve. Deloris was always eager to receive new prayer request and bombard heaven with them as she was excited to watch the Lord answer and supply every need! She also enjoyed years ministering at a nursing home during which time she led bible studies and worship.
Deloris was born in Waycross, Georgia, on January 13, 1944, to Robert and Dorothy Potter. She is survived by her daughters, Kim (Matt) Raborn and Kristi Thompson, her grandchildren Ashleigh (Toby) Brown and Heather Raborn, her great-grandchildren Faith Brown, Baylee Brown, and Selah Hope Brown, her sister Sue Carithers (Comer, Ga), and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life service will be held at Life Center Church, 114 N. Bel Air Road in Evans, GA 30809 on Saturday, March 22, 2025. Service will begin at 1 pm and the family will receive visitors thirty minutes prior. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Life Center church.
We take great comfort in knowing that Deloris is resting peacefully in the arms of her Savior and best friend, Jesus.
