Elgin Ray McHenry

Elgin Ray McHenry was born on February 7, 1961, to the late Milton F. McHenry and the late Francis Jones McHenry and was blessed with a loving stepmother Evelyn McHenry. Indianapolis Indiana, raised in Yonkers, New York, and later moved to Augusta, GA. At age 63, Elgin peacefully transitioned on November 20, 2024.

He graduated and enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. He served three years and was honorably discharged in 1984. His loved serving his country and being a Marine.

Elgin was a friendly and outgoing person who never met a stranger, and he always wore an infectious smile. He loved spending time with his children and adored his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by, 2 brothers, Milton Francis McHenry and Rodney Todd McHenry; and 3 sisters, BaLindar Faye Lisenbee, Audrey McHenry, and Tonya McHenry and stepmother Evelyn McHenry.

Elgin “Ray” leaves to mourn: his children  Schuyler McHenry, Tracee McHenry, Chantel McHenry and 6 Grandchildren:  Daniel McHenry, Taylor McHenry, Demi Bell, Zayne McHenry-Bell, Kensli Cooper, and Karsyn Cooper; Sister, Carmen (Henry) Clark, Loving Aunt Bonus Mom: Stella Mae Robertson; Closest and oldest nephew; Seth (Tina) McHenry; Nieces, nephew who took special care of him and adored him: Avemaria (Malcolm) Parks, Deavon Drumgoole, Jackson Tre Drumgoole and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins whom he loved dearly.
