Michelle Rosyln Lawson (Vaughn)
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michelle Rosyln Lawson on October 20, 2023, at the age of 56, in Augusta, GA. She was born on October 14, 1967, in New Brunswick, NJ, to the late Gail Vaughn-Fair and the late Leonard Sterling. Michelle was preceded in death by her grandmother Anna Vaughn.
Michelle leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. She will be forever remembered by her husband, Alfred Lawson, Sr.; her devoted children, Alfred Lawson, Jr. and Alaana Lawson; her cherished grandmother, Nora Williams; her beloved sisters, Camille (Fitz) Hoilette and Kecia (Steven) Atkinson; her dear aunts, Elizabeth Jessie and Annette Coleman; her nephews, Solomon Gayle and Anthoney Gayle; her cousins, Fitima (Eugune) Cox, Ngima (Norman) Senior, and Master Nicholas Senior. Michelle’s goddaughters, Yolanda Valentine and Yvonne Valentine, and her best friend, Gina Valentine, will forever hold a special place in their hearts for her.
Michelle graduated from North Augusta Senior High. She continued her educational journey at Augusta State University, earning her degree in 1999. She dedicated 24 years of her life as a Registered Nurse, working in various healthcare facilities in Georgia, South Carolina, and New Jersey.
Michelle’s spiritual journey began in 1977 when she was baptized at Thankful Baptist Church, under the guidance of Reverend N.T. Young, Sr. Her faith was a constant source of strength and solace throughout her life.
A ceremony to honor Michelle’s life will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 4pm at Celebration of Life Funeral Home, located at 4274 Belair Frontage Road, Augusta, GA.
